Subject: Who are you Shippers going to blame now?

Except for a few of you (that I could count on the fingers of one hand), all of you always thought that Fowley was evil and that she didn't really love Mulder. When it was prooven earlier this season that that was untrue, alot of you went to find shelter in the argument that although she wasn't evil you hated her for coming between M and S. I think that that is also untrue, and to proove my point I suggest we take a look back to determine just how hard Fowley has tried to "come between M and S".

We all had the pleasure ;-) of meeting Fowley in "The End" three seasons ago. M and S were just good freinds then, but anyone could see that there was something more between them, so Diana held back to properly assess the relationship's status. Sure she did say that Scully was kind of closed minded when it came to the paranormal, but we all know that that's not really an insult since it is true. After that, Fowley didn't pursue Fox any further.

At the end of that ep Diana got shot :-( . She was in pretty bad shape and it took her a while to recover (about 2 months, Standard XF time of course :-) ) When she got out, she didn't even call Mulder to tell him she was OK and that she wanted to see him or anything. That was clear from Fox's reaction when he saw her in "The Beginning". After that, about another month went by until we saw her again in "Two Fathers" and "One son". In those two eps, she kissed him once, and she didn't even do any Scully bashing.

After that, another two months went by until we saw her in "Biogenesis", and then she started to drive a little harder to the hole. Unfortunately, she died before anything could happen between her and Fox.

So, as you can see, Fowley has waited about 5 months before really making a move on Mulder, and during that time Scully was with him nearly every day. So if their relationship hadn't gone anywere, it's wasn't anybody's fault other than Scully's. She's the one who was scared to do anything about the feelings she has for Mulder.

The stunt Scully pulled in "En Ami" really hurt Mulder and it might have put a strain on their relationship, because this week's ep has *Mulder* going to investigate something in Vermont. Now my question to all you Shippers out there is: Now that you no longer have sweet sweet Diana to blame for the troubles in Mulder and Scully's relationship, who will you blame?

I've always blamed Scully, but since all of you seem to have been in denial for so long, I'm wondering if you've found another scapegoat?

P.S. How about the postal service? If they hadn't made their mailboxes so easy to get into, maybe Mulder would have gotten Scully's tape and maybe he wouldn't have been so mad at her. ;-)
