One could go on and on with, the parents do this, the coaches do that. The main thing to focus on is the academics of the kids in our schools, this is what we are all here for, secondary would be things like cheerleading, baseball, golf etc…… Let’s remember this is not a notch in anyone’s belt or lining someone’s pocket it’s our kid’s future. As a parent I have seen it, these cheerleaders are put through a lot and just trying out is a great accomplishment (yes, it is hard on a parent to see your child and other children have to go through such a process). In agreement with Lisa the football squad did great (heard a lot of good commits). The Elite squad has worked so hard and done so well. We are as proud of them as everyone should be and as they should be proud of themselves. The basketball squad, I heard several UCHS fans inquire as to why there were so few of them. I don’t think it started out like that. I believe each squad had 10 girls, but after several girls leaving each squad they just ended up with, sometimes 4, sometimes 5 or 6 girls. I believe all these girls worked very hard and it had nothing to do with the quality of there abilities it just had to do with the quantity. It’s hard to make a very loud noise with 4 to 6 girls looking across the floor at the opponent having 14 to 20 girls looking back at you (intimidating). It was obvious to fans and me that these two squads (red and blue) were pitted against one another for some reason (Girls, coaches and parents we know this will not work for the good of anyone involved). I could not understand why these two squads were, at least, not combined to help each other out? After all, we are all in it for one purpose our kids/our school, right? Get together, be smart.
