...for conversation.

Wow - you really said that about Scully being "free" with a straight face?

I can't really argue with anything you've said. I guess it's the implicit passivity of Scully accepting what Mulder believes even if she doesn't also believe that gets to me. I tend to get irritated when Scully is in a passive and/or subservient role.

It's not the "out there" resolution to Samantha's disappearance that I mind. It's the things NOT addressed, such as the clones, that I mind. Scully was involved in those cases, she knew what was going on, so why isn't she asking questions? Why wasn't Mrs. Mulder being in possession of ORIGINAL Treasury Department documents about Samantha's disappearance pursued? What did she know and when did she know it? I still think that if she knew or suspected anything, and didn't tell her son, that that is unspeakably cruel.

I'm not one who wants MSR (msr is fine with me) so I've been ignoring the discussions about how Mulder's acceptance of Samantha's death was necessary for things to progress. I absolutely agree with you that this was irrelevant to developing a Relationship.

See my response to detoured about a scene with Scully and CSM in the same room.

krh, who is desperate for conversation about Scully
