Don't panic!!! In anticipationof a strike, producers ordered more scripts up front & started production eariler this season. They should have enough stuff to cover well into next year (kinda dumb on the writers part since producers can now wait out the strike). I suppose soaps & daily comedy shows might be effected unless they have some special exemption.

They are striking for writers to get renew from DVD sales & online downloads & any other new outlets for their work that might come up. Given the money made on DVD sales of just about every TV show ever made, I'd say writers must be upset not to get a part of that pie. However, many veterens say they remember the strike 20 years ago & it hurt bad not getting work for so long. I suppose the extra work generated this summer & fall has them in good shape but so is the other side & this may go on for months. But to us, it will look like everything's OK. They might even have all the way to season's end written in some cases.
