I watched as a kid, afraid to see it now as it might not live up to the memories. I recall McGarrett being such a straight laced, square jawed, no nonesense guy. The various Hawaiian/Asian side kicks would confuse me. "And also starring Kam Fong as Chin Ho" used to make us laugh. I'd love to see the episodes in which McGarrett took on Chinese agent Wo Fat, the series would go from cop show to spy show then.
