I found I had to rewatch DW due to kids interrupting alot. My eldest just can't shut up during a tV show. She gets all excited and repeats stuff and asks questions etc. I liked shakespear Code. I Downloaded the Confidential show that shows you the making of it. Very interesting. Apparently there's one for each ep. Haven't got those though. Kind of takes the realism out of it when you see how they do things. I thought Shakespeare, himself, was funny and I loved the Harry Potter stuff from Martha.

I do not like the way Rose and Mickey talk. I call all those types of accents Cockney. "I've go' a li'oo' vict'ry dahnce to show you la'er on" says Mickey in School Reunion to Rose about SJ. The vowel diphtongs are the same as ours and if you put back all the missing sounds, you get a 99% Aussie accent. They are low class accents and when those people were sent here as convicts they evolved into our accent. People in South Australia have posher accents than the rest of us because that state was settled by free people who "talked proper like" Them and the Victorians say castle [like you say it] and dahnce. We say cahstle and dance [like you say it]. People in Queensland say baynk for bank. And Peeg for pig. They sound a bit NZish.

There are so many accents in Britain. I like the Northern ones. Yorkshires etc. When I used to read the Thomas the Tank Engine stories to my kids I would do them with the Liverpool accent like Ringo Starr [who narrates the TV show] I didn't do a very good job but it was a bit of fun.

Yes I agree that American Tv does usually only show standard Ameri-speak. Tom Bosley put on a bit of an accent in Murder She Wrote. Sounded like Mr Peevie from the Ghost and Mrs Muir. That's all I've ever heard of New England type accents. And of course we had JR in Dallas. Don't think I ever heard any really strong southern accents. YOu hear a few in Walker Texas Ranger but that's all. The strongest southern accents I've heard are on the news, when they interview US Generals in Iraq. They all seem to be southeners. I've seen quite a few interviews with Generals and other officers in the army and they are all southerners. Is there are reason for that? Some kind of complex from losing the civil war perhaps? I liked the way the kid spoke in the XF Movie. The kid who fell down the hole. I saw him in another movie/show once. Can't think of the name of it now. He was a demon or something. I think they were in Sth Carolina.

I can't remember if you said you saw Gridlock already or not. I can never remember who I've spoken to about DW. I now have discovered a guy at work who loves it so we have quite long conversations. WE sure do get some odd looks from our colleagues. I feel sorry for people who have grown up. The Face of Bo says something to the Doctor and I want to know what you think it means even though I know already. Whatever you do, don't see the last episode before the rest of them.

Stardoe.
