Subject: Yes, I think he will survive---we've been told through sources that this plotline will have an impact throughout next season and perhaps beyond. Bud's death--while traumatic---would not affect the show all the way through next season.

I was also completely shocked by the ending. Probably sat there staring at the TV for a good 15 minutes. I would hate to see Bud crippled for the rest of the show. What I was thinking is that Harriet is dreaming this. But that doesn't seem probable because it would be a crappy way to start the season by having Harriet wake up... although then her reaction to the dream could ultimately affect the whole season. Anyway poor Bud as it stands now.
