I have to agree that the leg amputation looks amazingly realistic. I have been wondering this myself for a long time. I know a little about CGI effects, and I've seen the Gary Sinise footage in "Forrest Gump" where he wears a pair of blue stockings that are later removed in post-production, but this looks so real. There is nothing fake looking about it. I have to admit I also wondered if PL lost his leg in an accident and it was written into the storyline. If it is CGI effects, then I applaud the guys who did it. It looks absolutely real.

No. Patrick Labroyteaux is just fine. I've never heard of a case where an actor cut his leg off over a tv role. It's called special effects.

I'm sure the question was not "did he cut off his leg for the role", the question was "had he already lost his leg and they wrote it into the role." It all looks so real, I questioned it myself. Have a little more respect for the person with the question!

Hi there all you JAG fans. I too am a JAG fan and a PL fan. He was an awesome child actor (Andrew Garvey in Little House), he disappeared for a long time and surfaced as Bud! Thank goodness. Without Bud and Harriet, the show would not be as good as it is. Harm and Mac carry the show, but Bud and Harriet make it real. I am glad I found this chat room!
