Subject: Oh My. I believe "Wendy" below asks the same question and katherine answered. Yes "Bud" lost his lower leg but of course PL the actor did not. It's just all good acting and some tv tech stuff.

I have to agree that the leg amputation looks amazingly realistic. I have been wondering this myself for a long time. I know a little about CGI effects, and I've seen the Gary Sinise footage in "Forrest Gump" where he wears a pair of blue stockings that are later removed in post-production, but this looks so real. There is nothing fake looking about it. I have to admit I also wondered if PL lost his leg in an accident and it was written into the storyline. If it is CGI effects, then I applaud the guys who did it. It looks absolutely real.
