R’ko and Rikkith’s worries were both diminished as soon as their minds became one. It happened in a mili-second. There was no R’ko, only Rikkith, and his human form below. Elith and Valor, though creeping in the back of their mind, were nearly forgotten. This was SHRINETH’S time to shine, and Elith was mad at them, didn’t trust them! Maybe they couldn’t please Elith, but they could sure as a wherrie was a wherrie try for the glowing specular that was the mighty Queen! Besides, the Queen deserved their all, and nothing less than that could ever do!

Rikkith launched into the air with a mighty screech, and the eleven-odd males around did NOT matter anymore! For this was a thing between Rikkith and Shrineth, seeing if Rikkith could ever be good enough to share a ruling power with the most wonderful female on all of Pern! She was all that mattered, now and forever! The Golden hue of her hide, the perfect way the sun glinted off her hide… how one live without it? How could he not try and please her?

A scream erupting from the large brown’s throat, his wings tore through the air, and his eyes were a deadly whirling red with longing. He had to follow! At first, he tried to keep speed with the wondrous female, tried to follow the Gold’s perfect moves, but he knew he could never move with the elegance she emitted, the grace reserved only for the Gold. He gave a little screech. She’d gone from his sight! However, this could be the test. She wished him to find her, and he must do this in the most impressive way he could. Closing the flashing many-faceted orbs, he flapped slowly, quietly, and listned. The beat of the male’s wings as they flew in desperate attempts. The whisp of the wind. And… wait. He could hear the faint, wonderous beat of wings, coming from afar. His eyes shot open. It had to be her!

As fast as his wings would allow, he propelled himself against the wind, towards the cloud the Gold hid herself within. She was there; he could now faintly see the sparkle of her hide. There was the one thing he needed…

He flew as close as she would allow, giving a loud scream, awaiting her next challenge.
