The fact is, there will always be difference of opinion in the world. This in and of itself is a healthy thing; individuality is what this planet is based on.

The sad truth is, there will always be hatred and bigotry to go with these differences. Just look at the Middle East, and all peripheral conflicts associated with the crisis there. And yes, one of these 'peripherals' is the ongoing battle against terrorism, involving the U.S., England, Australia ... pretty much the rest of what we call the 'free' world.

The latest, and perhaps worst such attack since last year's September 11th attack, took place recently in Bali. 450 casualties, 170 or which are confirmed deaths; that number could easily rise. I am certain I do not have as much info as people in Australia (like Gok) have; I heard that many of the dead were Australians, including an Australian rules football team.

Hate is a universal emotion, one that feeds off an even more basic feeling: fear. We can all hope for world peace, but as Dexter from the Offspring once sang, "I have a feeling it'll be a long time."
