You know, sometimes I don't know why I even bother to open my mouth. It's not like you guys don't know what I'm going to say anyway. Sigh.
Ok, Parker, Hannah, I respect your passion in this matter, but Ethan is right on this one. We're in deep shit. Larry, a powerless neonate, was being held captive by an elder who was fucking with his mind and stripping away his will and freedom. In that respect, I have a truly hard time condemning what you did. After all, it's not like you killed her or anything, and she certainly looks fine now.
The problem in question is timing and tactics. If you take Julia's understanding of things (which was mirrored to me in private by Angel), you did quite possibly the worst thing possible for the political situation in the city. It would have been much better if you had found a way to embarass or even blackmail Sophia into keeping her mouthshut. Even better, you could have insured that your deed was untraceable to you. If you remember, these sorts of tactics are what have been keeping us up screaming at night.
As for your little crusade, Parker, shame on you. It shows how remarkably short sighted and petty you are. Do you realize that you didn't do ANYTHING to the "people who warn you?" The people who warned you, who directed and paid for those terrible things, are still off happily laughing at us right now. Those people you murdered were hired guns - that's all. It was not personal at all. The only thing your victims did was have the bad luck to draw you for an assignment. So, unless you feel like anyone who kills for a living deserves to be killed, which would be remarkably hypocritical of you considering your history, there was no real reason to kill them. There are other goons who can be hired. You have done no damage.
Now if you really want to hurt the man who did these things, you will go after Blackwell. If Blackwell had been found with his intestines wrapped around his neck, I still would have been horrified and disgusted, but I would have kept my mouth shut. I suppose it's pretty obvious that he's going to attempt a coup. The man bombed my clinic, raped your roommate, froze your dog, killed Hannah's manager, and frankly, I don't want him on the throne. Now what are we going to do to stop him?
If people really do ascribe this to anarch troubles, as you so mildy suggested, Parker, than that would be very bad. We don't really want to get the elders worried about a neonate uprising right now. This might sound weird coming from me, but I have decided that keeping neonates alive is more important than defending their rights. This is especially applicable right now.
Now I have a theory that the group of elders whom Angel is dealing favors for included Blackwell, Sophia, and possibly Celeste. Aside from the Boston connection, it seems that Sophia and Blackwell are really cozy with each other, and I have never heard any of them speak or act in favor of the Prince. When I asked Angel about it, she wouldn't deny the associations.
I think it's obvious that Jan is in no position to take Blackwell out of the picture. If we could embarass Sophia publicly enough, perhaps we could force her to leave the city. That wouldn't work against Blackwell, and I'm afraid he might require more aggressive tactics. Parker, your misguided crusade has demonstrated your desire to hurt the people who have hurt those you love. Are you willing to raise your sights to Blackwell's level? Hannah? Ethan?
I really hope we don't have to resort to brute force in this. I think we've been doing a bit too much of that lately. Does anyone have any good ideas? Have you learned anything on the inside, Ethan?
