Subject: Emerges

Mia emerges from Lazy Sun Café and sits on the fountain’s edge. Nothing to do, I could race snails… She kneels on the fountain’s flat edge. She glides her finger over the surface, making small waves. She splashes the water with her hands, some getting on her. She gazes into the fountain. She sees a slight glint of something shiny… She stretches her neck to have a better look. But only she stretched out a little to far. She plummeted into the waters. She felt her chin hit the bottom of the fountain. She hoists herself up, spitting water out, and some at passersby who gave her threateningly looks. She looked into the waters, hoping to spot something twinkle. She shuffles her knees across the fountain, her hands feeling over the fountain’s bottom.

She couldn’t find anything. She sighs and raises herself onto the cobblestones. Mia stretches out her arms and legs, getting ready for combat. She then runs a few laps around the square. After a few drinks of water, she closes her eyes and planted her feet into a fighter’s stance. She slowly punches into the air, pretending the figure in front of her is an opponent.
