Subject: LFN DVD's and Amazon.com

This was posted on Warner Bros. LFNMB by bodyplan2001.

****************************

Attention All LFN fans:

A friend of mine (who is also a LFN fan) works at Amazon.com and he has revealed to me that the link requesting email notification of the LFN DVDs is something that Warner Home Video has requested to test potential sales numbers. He has informed me that when a studio is considering a possible new DVD release that sometimes they test potential sales numbers in this manner by seeing how many e-mail responses they receive. Unfortunately, he has also informed me that they would need to receive several thousand responses before they would ever seriously consider embarking on the very expensive process of producing an entire series on DVD. It can cost a studio several hundred thousand dollars minimum to produce a multi-season collection set, so they need to see that they will not only make their money back on production/manufacturing costs, but that they will most definitely see a hefty profit, before they will commit to such a project. Therefore, I strongly encourage every LFN fan to go to the Amazon.com site and do a search under DVD's for "La Femme Nikita". When the link comes up for the series, click on it, and then submit your e-mail address for Amazon.com, they will then, in-turn report the "numbers" to Warner Home Video. When, and if the numbers hit the expected mark of what Warner Home Video expects (3000-5000), they will then most likely make serious plans to produce the series as a season by season collection set (similar in the way that the X-files, Buffy, or Star Trek: TNG has been produced). So again, I strongly urge all LFN fans to go to the Amazon.com site to do this because it is the absolute best way to ensure that they will make the series available to us on DVD. Anyone connected with the other LFN fan sites please copy this thread to every LFN site possible so that a lot of the fans will see it. pass it on!!! Thanks!
