Subject: I don't get it either, Daishi. I saw that news as well and can't understand how a relatively new series can get only 1 season on DVD. They don't even know if they're getting picked up for next year, although it seems likely since it has 10 Emmy awards (long reply in message)

I'm trying not to step on any toes here (for those who do like *24*) but I can't seem to get into it. Maybe if I had watched it from the beginning. I've talked to people @ work and found one person who does like it. He says the same thing that a lot of people do, that unless you watched from the very beginning its hard to figure out what's happening or where the show is going. It seems to me that releasing it on DVD would serve as a "catch up" for those people who maybe just discovered it, like it and want to play catch up at this point. I fired off a nice little email to CD Now because that's where I saw the DVDs for 24 first. I told them I thought it was ludicrous for a brand new show to get DVDs and a show with the following of La Femme Nikita gets nothing even though there are fans all over the world begging for them.

I'm just as mad as you are Daishi. Buffy, Sex & the City and all of those other WB shows are getting DVDs and now 24. Its more than a person can stand. Vent on, I'm glad to see I'm not in the minority.

[> [> I really liked 24 Petty and you didn't step on my toes. We have a very well known fan base for LFN. Weren't there a few articles on the LFN fandom? I don't remember ever seeing any other fan group get as much media attention before. We are a pretty voicestrous (is that a word, lol?) and persistent group. It just really baffles me that they are still 'testing the market' for DVDs for such a well known group yet put one out right away for a brand new series. Maybe they are trying to get people caught up as you suggested but it seems like an expensive risk to take. Maybe it's due to Kiefer being a well known US actor. I went ahead and spent the money to get season one from Columbia house because it was my fav season and they didn't even send me the last two eps. It was around 20 dollars for each tape holding 2 eps. The 24 DVD for the whole season was only around 48. I feel like stamping my feet, balling up my fists and screaming 'it's not fair!!", lol! -- Daishi, 01:39:31 09/14/02 Sat

[> [> [> LOL guys. I'm stamping and screaming right along with you! ;) I think it has something to do with "24" being planned for DVD right from the inception. I don't think LFN was and there's a lot of music in it from different groups that apparently gets expensive when it comes to DVD. Geez, it's just enough to make you cry. I think one of the most important things we can do now, is to go to amazon.com and put in our e-mail addresses to show we're interested. I've even e-mailed my friend in Japan who has an LFN site there and asked her to tell everyone over there to do the same. E-mail everyone you know and their brothers and get them to go over there and do it. We need an overwhelming amount of people showing an interest. -- Shirleym, 22:29:33 09/14/02 Sat

[> [> [> [> Aww right Shirelym, that sounds like a plan! I'm going to get the word out to people because what we need right now are numbers. I didn't think about the fact that the music used during LFN could hold up things. Gotta pay those dues to those artists (we ALL learned something from Napster). They had some good artists used on LFN, including Depeche Mode and Sarah McLachlan. It makes me want to cry to see all of these other programs out on DVD and not LFN. We've got to make this happen. -- Petty, 09:30:55 09/16/02 Mon

[> [> [> [> [> YGG!... and I suppose it would help if I let people know that when they go to Amazon.com, they should click on "DVD" and then type in "La Femme Nikita". When you get to the listings, at the bottom it will say "La Femme Nikita (1997) Not Yet Released". If you click on that, there's a place to put your e-mail addy in to be notified when they do get it in. They're using this for market research, and they send the numbers back to Warner Brothers, so it's really important to sign up. :-) -- Shirleym, 00:49:58 09/17/02 Tue

[> [> [> [> [> [> Hey, I did it! My vote has been counted. I suppose it wouldn't be kosher to pad the numbers any. I don't suppose I could vote more than once? Never mind, I know the answer to my question already, LOL :-) -- Petty, 14:04:59 09/17/02 Tue
