Subject: Debrief from LCA4 (part one)

I went up to LCA with Minuet (list mom for the Royettes) and L. SCC couldn't come this time which was sad for us all, but I made sure to give her a full report as soon as I got home. There's an interesting history between the four of us. Min is the one who made the very first talent show a reality at CQS2 and L is the one who badgered me against my better judgment to do that talent show. (Thank you L! :D LOLOL) SCC and I are the ones who do most of the filks together for the performances.

L did all the driving to and from Canada and changed lanes surprisingly infrequently. >:P

We left at 7:30 am. (AGHHHHHHHH!) on Friday. The drive up was lots of fun talking amongst ourselves, me getting to know Minuet, and watching the countryside change from Pennsylvania to New York to Toronto. 3/4 of the way up, L and Min decided to listen to a book on tape... an {aHEM} "historical" novel about Scotland. I fell asleep as soon as it came on because... did I mention I'm not a morning person? I woke up a half hour later to something that sounded decidedly NOT historical... but oddly (see Ripley and Zzoo) fascinating. *g*

Something about a wet clef...
... makes the music soggy and hard to light, no?. :P

Oooooookay... So anyway, after getting a *little* bit lost around the airport, we made it to the hotel, rested up a bit, and went down to see the blooper (wrap) reels from a whole bunch of TV shows, including LFN. They showed two I'd never seen before which were season one and season four. The most interesting thing I remember from the season one one, is the whole cast singing {{Sec-tion, we're the Sec-tion}} with everyone dressed in black and Roy standing in the front with his arms crossed singing loud and clear as a bell. The only words I can remember are {{When you're, with the Sec-tion, have a rat-a-tat a tat time, a rat-a-tat time, we'll have a gayyyyy olllllllllld tiiiiiiiiiiime}}
Min and I will try to get those lyrics. They must be a scream.

The next blooper that really stands out for me was from the season 2 reel. I've always laughed because I have a thing about the way Roy says the word "aerrrrrea" in LFN. He pronounces that "r" so long and hard and....................................what was I talking about again?.... :P~~~~~~~~`
...oh yeah, and a little nasal... The first time I remember hearing him say it (and wondering why he sounded like Donald Duck all of a sudden) was in Hard Landing when he's looking through the night binoculars. This man who can make me melt with almost any word in any language he cares to tackle, had me in stitches.

Well, I'd seen the season 2 wrap reel before, but I guess I didn't catch the blooper from Approaching Zero where Michael comes to Nikita's door and Jurgen's in there visiting her and Michael says, "I was just in the adea"... (with a pronounced d sound) and then he starts laughing at what just came out of his mouth. :D

Somebody buy that man a vicinity!
LOL, It's nice to know he's human. ;-)

I can't remember which season it's from, but I love the blooper where Michael's walking down the hall in his black suit, walking that incredible, self assured, graceful yet incredibly hunky walk... and then he just keeps going till he slams right into the wall.... BLAM!!!

There were two great ones from season four. One was of Roy and Peta in the beach scene in Up the Rabbit Hole. They've both got what looks like fruit roll ups for tongues so it looks like their tongues are about two and a half inches wide and five or six inches long and they're side by side looking into the camera and wagging their tongues around...
and then they kind of sidle their faces up to each other till they're sort of cheek to cheek and try to turn and touch the flapping tongues. That's one I'd love to see again.

And the last sort of "good bye" from Roy.

He's sitting in front of a computer as Michael, dressed in black as usual. He's typing very seriously as he always does, looking at the screen with his usual calm intensity. All of a sudden he's got an apple in his hand and he opens his mouth reeeeeeeally wide and takes a huge bite out it. I mean HUGE. {{{CA-RUNCH}}} And then he proceeds to crunch and chomp on it and shift it in his mouth from cheek to cheek in the messiest display of apple eating I've EVER seen. LOL!
He's got the skin of it still flopping around on his tongue, half out of his mouth, juice is glistening on his chin, and all the while he just keeps studying that screen verrrrrrrrrrrry intently. Then as he continues chewing, he starts frowning and squinting and moving his head closer to the screen in a kind of a what-the-hell-is-that look. Then he sits back a bit, then he leans forward and squints and frowns a bit again... then he sits back again....... and then, with a mixture of pride, accomplishment and finality on his face, he says something like,

"Ok.................. everybody's dead".

And that's the end of the season four reel.

Whatta guy

end of part one

[> Oooooh, and I just remembered another one from the first season! You know in Gray when Michael writes out the bid of $30,000,000? Well, there's a take from that scene where he writes, $30,000,000.99 :D What a hoot. -- Shirleym, 00:23:54 10/28/01 Sun

[> [> BAHAHA I've seen the fruit roll up tongues and it's hysterical. Sure wish I'd been there with you. What a shame that SCC couldn't make it. I so love the act you do with she and L. Give them both a hug from me. (And shame on you listening to tapes with your dirty mind turned on, LOL.) -- Zzoo, 11:20:55 10/28/01 Sun

[> [> [> Hi SM! Hi Zzoo! Thank you sooo much! :-) Actually, while they were away, I was working on an impromptu interview that I had done with Luisa Rino, the woman who interviewed RD for Nuvo. Hey, SusanW. Did you get my email about that? Anyway, I am so happy to read Shirleym's post (s) and I am SWL over that $30... thing, too! -- SCC, 12:02:15 10/28/01 Sun

Hi ladies!! Good to see so many of the 'old' group from Susan's board over here! Thanks Shirley for the update on the auction & the outtake/blooper reel. I had heard about the fruit rollups tongues.......wish I had seen it!!
And SCC!! You were the one who talked with Luisa Rino??!! YGG!! When I had seen the message over at The Royettes site, I didn't realize it was you! Great to see so many are still on the LFN & RD wavelength!
Take care all!
Mary

[> An apple, LOL! He should have been slurping some coffee, too, don't you think? The drive up there does sound like it was fun--I bet you saw some pretty fall colors, as well. -- Susan W, 22:06:03 10/29/01 Mon
