Subject: DVDs!!! L@@k What I Found on the Save LFN Board! YEEEE HAWWWWW!!! :D :D :D {{{Happy Dancing}}}

First Team was notified today by Warners that DVDs of LFN were submitted in October as a part of their annual DVD budget presentation. The presentation was favorably received, and the DVD project was approved!

Columbia House will implement and manage the project. Based upon Warners' experience, it is anticipated that the DVDs will be available by approximately September, 2002. The process is a lengthy one which will include remastering of the film footage and sound. Columbia House will make the final decisions on how to launch the project, so please remember that this is only an estimate of the
availability date.

"Extras" will be included on the DVDs--exactly which extras will be determined by what extras are available and whether the extras are "compelling." Columbia House has their own department whose job it is to determine the "extras" content.

Whether the DVDs are offered individually or as a boxed set will also be a decision made by Columbia House, although Warners has a preference for boxed sets and has found them to be an incredible success story.

First Team has again made it very clear to Warners that the fans want boxed sets; that we are very well-informed and specific about what we want included with the DVDs; and that without the extras DVD sales cannot be expected to exceed those of Columbia House's VHS tapes. If it can be arranged, Warners anticipates scheduling a meeting between executives at Columbia House and members of First Team so that the expectations of the fans can be conveyed to them in person.

There are still questions to be answered as the project moves along, but for now, we are more than satisfied with a big "YES" to our DVD request. Warners will stay in touch with First Team and will advise us as more information becomes available.
