Subject: The Golden Globes

The nominees for the Golden Globe awards were announced last Thursday, December 20th. Among the nominees for best drama series were two spy-oriented shows: "Alias", and Joel Surnow's "24". Congratulations to Joel Surnow, along with Michael Loceff, for their show's nomination! I have to admit that while the nomination for the widely admired "24" didn't surprise me, the one for "Alias" did--and pleasantly so.

I also noticed that John Cameron Mitchell, one of Alberta Watson's fellow actors in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch", got a nomination for best actor-musical or comedy. I spotted some "Hedwig" tapes recently at my local Hollywood Video store (...love those five day rentals for every movie or DVD. Take a hint, Blockbuster!)
