Author: Christine
Subject: 2001 LFN Online Auction

This is an online auction of items that were donated for the CQS4 Charity Auction. Due to time constraints, not all items were offered at the event.

I am posting the rules early so that you have a chance to review them. The auction does not start until July 21, 2001. (As Michael would say, be patient )

1)The auction officially commences at 9AM EDT on July 21, 2001 (that will be 6AM PDT) and concludes at 9PM EDT (that would be 6 PM PDT) on July 28, 2001 based upon the message board's automatic time stamp. The message board's time stamp may not be absolutely accurate, but this is the time we are going by, so please set your clock by it.
IMPORTANT RULE: The last officially bids must be placed no later than 9:00:00 PM (that will be 6:00:00 PM PDT).

2)Registration: You will need to register for this message board to place bids. There is a link to "register" in the upper right of your screen. Please click on that link and follow the directions. The only information you are required to enter is your screen name/code name and a valid e-mail address. Anything else is optional. You will be given the option to block your e-mail address from public view if you choose. Your IP number is logged by the board but is not on display to the public. You will then need to use the screen name and the password you chose each time you post to the auction board. If your browser accepts cookies, the board can save your login information for you if you choose that option. If you have difficulty registering, please e-mail Christine for assistance. It is extremely important that you provide a valid e-mail address; if we cannot contact you, your bids will be invalidated. If you registered for any of our previous auctions, or to use the EZboards in general, you are still registered and do not need to repeat the process.

3) BIDDING: All bidding will be made in American dollars; however bidding is open to everyone and we can ship internationally. You must be 18 or older to bid. Official bids must be posted to the LFN Online Charity Auction Board. Bids only, listing your internet name/codename and email address, will be accepted at this board. Bids must be made in increments of $5.00. If you raise a bid by any amount other than a $5.00 increment, the previous bid prevails until the bidding has raised the item price by a $5.00 increment. Example: The bid is at $20. You may bid $25 or $30 or $35, and so on. The increase must be divisible by $5. If you have any questions about the auction rules, they may be directed to Joyce Wolf, or if you need help with the technical details of bidding, please e-mail Christine Ortega. Anything that is not a bid in the auction forums will be deleted. All bids must be made in U.S. dollars. If you win one of the items, you will be notified shortly after the conclusion of the auction with information about where to send payment and how much shipping charges will be.

4) Internet Difficulties: The Internet is an unstable medium. You may experience difficulties or delays in posting due to problems that may emanate from your ISP/computer or ours. We will make every effort to ensure that the board operates as efficiently as possible; however by participating in this auction you agree not to hold liable Joyce Wolf, Christine Ortega, LFN Productions, or any other associated entity in the event that your bidding is hampered by technical difficulties.

5)As-is policy: All items are offered as-is. We will note wherever possible if they are in less than excellent condition but we make no guarantees. Please view the photographs and feel free to ask questions. The choice to insure shipments is left to the discretion of the purchaser; the auction is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged in shipping.

6)Payment for winning bids can be made with personal check, cashier's check or money order. Shipping costs must be paid with cashier's check or money order. You will be notified of shipping costs when you receive confirmation of your winning bid. If you live outside the U.S. shipping costs will be higher.

7) Questions about the auction in general may be forwarded to Joyce Wolf or posted to the Questions Forum. Questions about using the board go to Christine Ortega.

[> I'd never read T.S. Eliot before. (I'm SO deprived...) I'm going to go bid on the book Gene Glazer signed right now. If you want to read some poems from "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats", you can go to: http://www.kirtland.cc.mi.us/honors/possums.htm -- Shirleym, 13:48:13 07/21/01 Sat

[> [> I've never seen "Cats" either {{oh, sob}}, but I see that "The Rum Tum Tugger" is a T.S. Eliot poem. I remember seeing the video of that song on MTV years ago. I loved it! Ahhhhh... you learn something new everyday. :-) -- Shirleym, 14:07:41 07/21/01 Sat
