Subject: Lady Aeval/everyone/anyone...HELP!

lost a bunch of bookmarks when i finally made the switch to Netscape 6.1 (ugh/argh/*gnashes teeth*)...and then suffered series of health messes (carpal tunnel being the worst of the bunch...type u will not w/ it!)

got almost all of them back, but lost the Lady Aeval's Domain's URL...

can someone help????

And my sympathies to you as well on your upgrade problems. I am a longtime Netscape fan, but I do remember one particular upgrade that did not go well, and I lost all of my archived e-mails. :-( I remember reading that 6.0 was really buggy, so I've decided to wait for awhile before upgrading (I'm currently on 4.7). I've got a question for you--that sidebar on the left of 6x--can it be minimized? I can't stand the thought of it taking up all of that screen space.

Millenium, if you happen to run into old board friends on the internet that haven't checked in yet, I'd love it if you would tell them about this board. Some of our operatives are still MIA.

absolutely you can disable/eliminate that sidebar...i did 1st thing.

my biggest problem w/ the upgrade apparently had to do w/ a slightly defective download of the program itself. one file got corrupted...and well...sigh. Netscape/AOL can't seem to figure out why N4.x stuff was lost, since it was only supposed to copy over the bookmarks.

sigh...almost back to normal...still a few addies missing...but have no idea what! the new bookmark section is too short! :(


some other stuff:
N6 is MUCH slower than N4.x.

other gripes: printing something. 4.x allowed you to print the URL/page info, which comes in mighty handy.

another: lack of the browser actually saving the cache file w/ .xxx extensions...and not within the program directory. it's now in the Windows directory, and its a 'beetch' to try & save stuff (like photos) without having to apply an extension, open it up & see if anything shows up.


as for the carpal...am avoiding surgery for now. had a steriod injection in one wrist...NEVER again! not NO how, not NO way!

will pass the word as i find other folks a-scattered online.
