It's odd, because we have practically the same story, but. . . opposite. Does that make sense? ^^;;;

When you first showed up, I was like, "Whoa! Flashback!" And when it seemed like you were willing to make amends and just get along, I was, like, "Yay!" (I'm Californian, I say "like" a lot. ^^) I mean, we needed more members, and I really don't like it when disagreements just kinda stew and continue being disagreements. I'm one of those people who just wants to get along, you know? ^^;;; I'm sorry if I haven't seemed that way, but I am.

I really didn't mind the "I read the intro!" thing, because I often forget that rule myself. It's there just to make sure that people read the intro, really. But if I don't call someone for not doing it, then everyone else is going to whine, "Well, you let so-and-so get away with it!" Present tense was something I just decided to implement, since I was beginning to see discrepencies in people's writing and it was starting to confuse some of the players. I didn't mean to be snappish. Actually, I wasn't aware I was being snappish. I try to maintain a sense of lightheartedness in my replies and OOC notes, but I guess that didn't get across. o.O

As for getting into the "inner circle," I'm afraid that I have no real answer to that other than that all of us on these boards have been friends for years and we chat as well as RP together. If that makes people feel estranged, I honestly have no idea what to do about that. If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me. ^^

But you know what? I was going through the same thing you were, only from the other side. ^_^;;; "Ah, it was a rough start; it'll get better." I sincerely wanted to get along and make amends for my stupid actions in the past. You were irritated? I'm glad to know that, because I was irritated, too. I mean, from my end it sounded like a simple request/civil suggestions. And then I'd be snapped at for what I perceived as doing my job--that is, running the board and making suggestions for people to improve their writing/RPing, etc.--and that was just distressing. I kept thinking, "What am I doing wrong?" And that alternated with, "Is this going to work out?"

To deleting your farewell message, I already told you my reasons for that. And as I said, I had no idea that would end up with any sort of conflict.

But yes, you're certainly welcome to just stay and chat. I really can't do anything to stop you. ^_^;; I'm hoping that you'll reconsider joining the RPG, though; I mean, now that we have a better understanding of each other, maybe we can come to terms. But if you don't think it's possible, that's okay, too.

I'm afraid I don't remember Castor; he might be after my time. And I had no idea that people were being scared off. I mean, we don't go in for "rejecting" or "bashing" people, although I suppose that depends on your definition of "bash." My definition of "bash" involves "U SUCK GO AWAY FLAME FLAME FLAME INSERT PROFANITIES HERE." What we try to do here is constructive criticism. Yes, I know that sometimes C&C is something that some people don't desire, and I'm fine with that. What gets to me--and others--is when I don't know that C&C isn't desired (I mean, I stress that this is a place for learning, so I kind of assume that people won't mind if we nitpick a little, or at least pretend to listen) and people get snappish or scared off when I try to offer what seems to me some suggestions for improvement.

I know that people might think that we take role-playing way too seriously, all this hoity-toity talk about "learning" and "improvement" and whatever. I mean, it's supposed to be fun, right? But most--if not all--of us here are serious writers; not all of us may want to be authors, but we are writers. To us, role-playing is another form of writing and should be taken just as seriously as writing a novel. Well, maybe that's a little extreme, but it's close to how most of us feel about role-playing (if I'm wrong, somebody let me know).

And that's my side of the story.

A request to anyone else who may be reading this: please do not get involved, no matter how much you may want to. If you want to grumble, grumble amongst yourselves. If you think that what you have to say is mightily important, then please email me or contact me via AIM. Thank you. The last thing I want is for this to escalate into something worse than it already is.
