Well LS, you've started a string of replies that, I expect, will take up more space than you care to read. That is, of course, unless you Republicans can get it through your thick skulls that you don't have the slightest clue about economic theory and practice.

My first advice is don't fight a war on someone else's turf. After recently completing a 53 page senior thesis on my chosen major, economics, I am armed with a full arsenal to quickly strike down any conservative flat tax, trickle down mumbo jumbo you care to discuss.

Throughout my higher education and countless hours of economics classes ranging from intermediate micro and macroeconomics, to public economics, to developing economies, I've heard every argument there is to make. Above that, my distinguished professors have studied more than I ever want to read. My professors did not all share the same political stance as I did. It was pretty much an even split between Democrat and Republican. However, there are two things that they all agreed on.

Number one: George Herbert Walker Bush destroyed the economy.

Number two: The only President with worse economic policies than Bush were Ronald Reagan.

I'm going to pause my arguments here and wait for some replies with the following famous piece of writing:

"Author: phil
Subject: Hypocrisy in action in American politics.

TWENTY RULES FOR BEING A GOOD REPUBLICAN
1. You have to believe that the nation’s current 8-year prosperity was due to the work of Ronald Reagan and George Bush, but that yesterday’s gas prices are all Bill Clinton’s fault." -03/06/01

On the similar note, you now have to believe that the nation's current 1 year recession is the work on Bill Clinton and also believe that yesterday's gas prices are his fault too.

Anyway, I think I've given the fire sufficient fuel. I'm just waiting for it to start burning now. Bring it on LS. For some reason, I'm also expecting Tint to pitch in with a few words. However, everyone is welcome to bring me their ideas on economics that they heard on their talk show of choice and I will gladly chew them up and spit them out.

By the way, what country have we formally declared war on LS? The only war I know of is the one you recently started with me. I think it's going to be a fun one.

I'm looking forward to continuing this discussion. Until then, keep being a conservative (afraid to fight and too fat to run).

Sam
