Subject: Am I wrong?

My grandfather was Lenape and I have chosen to research my family tree and learn as much as I possibly can about Native Americans and their culture and language. I'm trying to raise my daughter to be educated on this also. I'm currently writing my representatives on Native American human rights and recently I've encountered people who have horrible things to say regarding Native Americans. I debate it with them and try to educate them. They never seem to change there opinion. I walk away feeling insulted and hurt. Why is it so hard for them to see the truth? Am I wrong? I'm finding it hard to find people to connect to that feel the same way I do.
