My first exposure to the GW/BC was the summer of 72 or 73. I was spending time at my friend's camper (another GW freak) and there was a billiards clubhouse where all the kids hung out at. They had an 8-track of Best Of Vol 1 and they played it constantly the whole time we were there. I began scouring record bins (sneeze) for albums. It was a great time to find budget records. Road Food came out soon afterwards and I've been hooked ever since. When Burton went solo it was a natural transition for any GW fan.

Man, this is bad but I don't remember exactly. I loved all the hits, the Best Of was one of the few albums I took away to college with me. But I got hooked on Burton from watching Melanie on HBO repeatedly, during a very bad time in my life. That's weird, I know, but the movie was my way of tranmitting beyond what I couldn't fix---pure escapism. I remember being very pleased his voice was still so good and that sealed it up for me, folks. I'd have to say that the Guess Who song that made the biggest impression on me in my early years was Star Baby. It was just fun.
