I remember rushing home from school as a kid to watch this
really great band on the CBCs' "Let's Go" daily music show.
Each day, it came from a different city, but the Winnipeg show was the best show of the week. The band was great; the lead singer was very good. I still remember Chad Allan
appearing as a guest on one show (although I didn't know
who the hell Chad Allan was, other than being an ex- member,
and a decent singer). I also remember another show where
they had a video clip of the band members riding snowmobiles somewhere. "When Friends Fall Out", and a few
other original tunes are memories, too, but the cover tunes
were the purpose of the show, and they were well done.
Kind of lost track of the band briefly, but I found them
when I found the "Canned Wheat" album, newly released. I'd
heard "These Eyes" on the radio, but didn't connect with the first album til long after the "American Woman" album and the "No Sugar
Tonight" and "No Time" singles...."No Time" is still my
favourite tune to this day.

It was the fall of 1969 and my uncle took me for a ride in his 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible, black with a red interior. We were doing 70 mph down a gravel road with the top down. On the 8 track player, "Of A Dropping Pin" was blaring. I will never forget that day.
