True Xenon is electrically charged, and requires a transformer for both left and right lights. I have a set from a lexus that I am selling.
I just got back from Chicago and while I was there I borrowed my moms 740 IL for the weekend and it was equiped with Xenon, I dont see it as being any more affordable than the lights I installed in my car. but definetely noticed the extended viewing range off the sides. BMW H1 bulbs are sufficient for brightness and also whiteness. I have seen the Xenon "bulb" and I dont believe that is the same thing as true Xenon which is a charged filament.
