Hi There I had a very similar problem only mine occurred more frequently, it was probably a fault with the ignition starter switch. What I did was to put a remote starter button in the engine compartment with a lead from the positive connection on the battery to one side and then the other side connected to the solenoid connection via a piggy back connector. This did not cure the problem but it made it easier when the key wouldn't start it also its good for checking if you are getting a spark and fuel when you are on your own.
