Subject: Another big man back on the market.......Jermaine Bell

According to Hoop Scoop:

It also appears that the Pendleton School already has a replacement for Balkman, because 6'10 Jr Jermaine Bell transferred from Virginia Beach (Coastal Christian) VA to Bradenton (Pendleton School) FL earlier this fall. Speaking of Bell, who has been reclassified as a junior, he no longer is verbally committed St. John's.

UC was recruiting him at one time. I wonder if they'll get back into the hunt?

Still several big men available.
6'10" Alexander Johnson
6'11" Darryl Watkins
6'8" kid from Louisville....Ngardi....or something like it
6'10" Jermaine Bell

Question:
If UC uses it's 5th scholarship this year on an outstanding big man (like Alexander Johnson or Darryl Watkins) and then would amazingly get someone like a Jermaine Bell-type player to go along with Jamar Butler in the 2004 class........what position do you recruit for the last scholarship?

I say go after Norm Plummer with the last scholarship. And I guess that means we don't take Terwilliger. Or should we take Terwilliger over a Jermaine Bell-type player?

That would be an outstanding 2 year recruiting class if you get all 8 of those players:
2003
6'10" C Robert Whaley
6'4" PG Nick Williams
6'7" SF James White
6'8" PF Mike Pilgrim
6'10" C Alexander Johnson

2004
6'10" C Jermaine Bell
6'2" PG Jamar Butler
6'7" PF Norm Plummer

Of course if you got Terwilliger....you'd still have 3 players 6'9 to 6'10" which gives us back some size.

What do you think?
