Subject: Game results for Cincy recruit Mike Pilgrim and a guy Cincy should be recruiting, Norm Plummer

Brewster 105, Trinity High School 65 (December 18)

Brewster Academy's Boys' Varsity "A" basketball team rolled to a 105-65 win over Trinity High School. Brewster was led by Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio), a 6'7 210lb. junior with 40 points. Plummer is averaging 32 points per game during 6 games in the past week. Cincinnati-bound Mike Pilgrim (Cincinnati, Ohio) added 20 points in the victory, most of which of the spectacular dunk variety. Postgraduates Frank Gilroy (North Bellmore, N.Y.) and Ivan Kostic (Madrid, Spain) both chipped in 10 points in the victory. Luke Bonner, a 6'11 junior led Trinity with 14 points.

Brewster 121, Notre Dame Prep 115 OT (December 15)

Brewster captured the Brewster Classic by defeating Notre Dame Prep in a 121-115 overtime thriller. Brewster was led by junior Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) with 38 points. Brewster had a balanced attack with Blake Schilb (Rantoul, Illinois) adding 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, and Mike Pilgrim (Cincinnati) chipping in with 18. Juniors Deion James (Milwaukee) and Joel Smith (Lompoc, California) both scored 14 points in the victory. David Gale (Sherman Oaks, California) was outstanding down the stretch for Brewster. He scored on a drive with under 20 seconds remaining and was fouled to tie the game at 101, sending it into overtime. Gale finished with 12 points. Notre Dame Prep was led by Mississippi State-bound Gary Ervin with 40 points.

Brewster 113, Thayer 80 (December 14)

Brewster bounced back from a tough loss earlier in the day to defeat Thayer, 113-80, in the first round game of the Brewster Classic. Brewster was led by junior Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) with 27 points. Junior Deion James (Milwaukee) chipped in 18 points for the Bobcats. Joel Smith (Lompoc, California) had 16 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Also reaching double-figures for Brewster were Frank Gilroy (North Bellmore, N.Y.) with 12 and David Gale (Sherman Oaks, California) with 11. All 10 Brewster players scored in the contest. Thayer was led by Maryland-bound Mike Jones with 22.

Brewster 80, New Hampton 82 (December 14)

New Hampton School edged Brewster Academy, 82-80, in the championship game of the Brewster Academy Invitational. The game had several lead changes. Neither team enjoyed a lead greater than 5 points. Michael Cook hit a 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining to give the Huskies the lead. Brewster was led by junior Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) with 25 points. Junior Deion James (Milwaukee) added 15 points for Brewster.

Brewster 114, Proctor 71 (December 13)

Brewster defeated Lakes Region rival Proctor Academy 114-71 in the first game of the Brewster Invitational before a raucous and spirited home crowd. Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) led five Brewster players in double figures with 31 points. Mike Pilgrim (Cincinnati, Ohio) chipped in 20 points, most of which were of the spectacular dunk variety. Tom Novick (Charlotte, North Carolina) and Ivan Kostic (Madrid, Spain) both added 12 points for Brewster. Joel Smith (Lompoc, California) also reached double figures by dumping in 10 points. All 10 Brewster players scored in the victory. Proctor was led by Evan Meekins with 22 points.

Brewster 118, Tilton 77 (December 11)

The Varsity "A" Boys Basketball team defeated Tilton 118-77. Brewster was led by Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) with 34 points. Joel Smith (Lompoc, California) and Blake Schilb (Rantoul, Illinois) both added 16 points in the victory. Ivan Kostic (Madrid, Spain) helped the cause with 13 points and 7 rebounds. David Gale (Sherman Oaks, California) also reached double figures with 12 points, including two 3-pointers. Brandon White led Tilton School with 21 points, all of which came on 3-point field goals.

Brewster hosts Proctor Academy on Friday at 6 p.m. in the opening game of the Brewster Invitational. New Hampton School is slated to play Naval Prep at 8 p.m. in the other first round game.

Brewster 88, Maine Central Institute 79 (December 8)

Brewster played host Maine Central Institute in the consolation game. Brewster defeated MCI 88-79. Brewster had five players reach double figures led by All Tournament selection Deion James (Milwaukee) with 22 points. Blake Schilb (Rantoul, Illinois) played a great all-around game by adding 20 points 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) added 18 points and 7 rebounds for the Bobcats. Joel Smith (Lompoc, California) and Mike Pilgrim (Cincinnati) both added 12 points to the victory.

Brewster 78, Winchendon School 98 (December 7)

Brewster traveled to Pittsfield, Maine, to play a very talented Winchendon School team in the first game of the MCI Invitational. Winchendon jumped out to a commanding lead and the Bobcats were never able to recover. Winchendon won 98-78. Deion James (Milwaukee) was the lone bright spot for Brewster. James scored 20 points, including 18 in the second half. Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) chipped in 17 points in the loss.

Brewster 100, Thayer 66 (December 6)

The Boys Varsity "A" Basketball team defeated Thayer Academy 100-66. Brewster jumped out to a 15-3 start in the opening minutes and didn't look back. Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) led a balanced Brewster attack with 21 points. Mike Pilgrim (Cincinnati) added 16 points and 7 rebounds. Blake Schilb (Rantoul, Illinois) played a great all-around game for the Bobcats and chipped in 15 points. Ten Brewster players scored in the contest. Thayer was led by Jamaal Dixon with 21 and Maryland-bound Mike Jones with 20.

Brewster 72, Redemption Christian Academy 59 (December 4)

The Boys Varsity "A" Basketball team won their home opener on Wednesday by defeating Redemption Christian Academy (NY) 72-59. Mike Pilgrim (Cincinnati, Ohio) led Brewster with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Blake Schilb (Rantoul, Illinois) played a solid all-around game and added 14 points for the Bobcats. Norman Plummer (Fairfield, Ohio) and David Gale (Sherman Oaks, California) both chipped in 12 points. Gale's coming on four 3-pointers. Joel Smith (Lompoc, California) also reached double figures in scoring with 10 points.

Brewster hosts Thayer Academy (Massachusetts) on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Brewster travels to Pittsfield,Maine, this weekend to participate in the Maine Central Institute Invitational Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Brewster meets Winchendon School (Massachusetts) on Saturday at 8 p.m.
