You make it out like UC, year after year, has had rosters full of All-Americans.

UC gets like ONE top 50 recruit every other year, it seems. But the guys that we start out trying to get, never come here.

Hoop Scoop adjusts those rankings after the fact, sometimes, to make them look like they're geniuses, which they're not.

Dontonio Wingfield was one BlueChip recruit that came early in Huggs tenure. Before that, we got no one that was highly touted.

Danny Fortsen was another.

But we really didn't have any other Blue Chippers to play with those guys.

You seem to think just because one service lists a guy at 40, while another lists him at 90, that the guy is a Blue Chipper.

I'm talking the consensus top 25 guys in the country.

Eric Hicks was listed at 40-50 by one recruiting service and I saw him as low as the 90's in others. Kirkland wasn't even in the top 100 of most services. Chadd Moore was 50-100 by most. Kareem Johnson was not a JUCO All-American according to Big Apple Sports. Bobbitt was.

My rant is directed at comparing UC to Duke, North Carolina, Arizona, Kansas, Florida, Florida State, UCLA, Michigan State, etc...........WE DON'T GET HORDS OF BLUE CHIPPERS EVERY YEAR.

I will agree that we get one every other year.....and occasionally we hit the jackpot.....but not very often.

Kenyon's team was the best lineup of top talent we've had at UC. Martin and Logan were top 100, and top 50 on some services. Johnson was top 10 on most services. Mickael was a JUCO All-American. Satterfield was listed as high as top 10 on some services. THAT WAS A GREAT TEAM. NO DOUBT. And had Kenyon not gotten hurt.......WHO KNOWS!!!!! But we're not a Duke where we reload year after year and have a chance to win it every year.......you're crazy if you think that.

When we had Fortsen.....we didn't have any quality PG's or complimentary big men.

When we had Wingfield......we were too young and inexperienced and he needed to stay and let the lineup develop around him. PLus, the PG recruited with Wingfield transferred out (Marko Wright). Damon Flint playing PG was not the solution.

Maxiell and Hicks were top 50 in a few selected services, but not most.

You seem to think UC is Arizona or Duke......WE'RE NOT.

Those teams have every piece of the puzzle nearly every year.

It's like this year. We have very good 2,3, and 4 players, but not very good PG or Center. No heighth. We're always missing pieces of the puzzle......unlike Duke, Kansas, Arizona....etc., etc.

You try to make it out like we have an All-American lineup every year. Geez, Xavier had a better lineup with Darnell Williams, Lenny Brown, Gary Lumpkin, James Posey for several years. Not to mention Lloyd Price!

Maxiell and Hicks give us two questionable top 50 players the last two seasons. Wingfield and Fortsen give UC two top 25 players over a 4 year span.

D. Johnson and Satterfield, Kenyon Martin, and Steve Logan, Pete Mickeal, etc.......was a great run of getting good players. But it doesn't happen that often, IMHO.

UC does it with smoke and mirrors most of the time, IMHO.
