I've never heard of Grammar Girl, but if she says split infinitives are OK then it's probably an American site. The Americans are rather sensible when it comes to using the English language. The most widely quoted split infinitive is: "to boldly go..." you know from Star Wars. As I mentioned to Gilly - I actually split infinitives all the time, as it seems too posh and phoney not to. (There I go ending a sentence with a preposition another big No No according to Mr McMillan’s Law).

It is a weird, but Mr. McMillan has left quite a “guilt” scar on the language section of my brain.

I’m afraid Menses testing would be a waste of time for me; I think my IQ is only a fraction above idiot level most days.
