I thought he donated the prize money to charity, so in fact did not personally gain. Don't quite understand the USA Constitution though - not sure if the clause refers only to a monetary gain, but may also include the honour and the medal as well.

I think one other USA President also won a Nobel Prize when in Office and Kissinger won it the 1970’s while he was Secretary of State, so precedents have already been set on this issue.

I personally don't think he actually deserved the medal though; He hasn't really done anything yet. But what would have been said if he had refused the prize? There probably would have been a much bigger uproar about a slight on the honour, from the groups that don’t like him. Probably the Nobel Prize Committee was so relieved that Bush and the neo-conservatives had gone they over reacted. LOL.

Not sure who should have won it, probably that Zimbabwean Prime Minister who was a hot favourite, but I can’t remember his name.
