Subject: new Leader Dog pup

in my life. Almost 8 weeks, picked her up last Thursday from the school. Beautiful, spunky, smart yellow Lab. Mom and Dad both black Labs and the other six siblings in her litter are black, she was the only yellow.

Named her Ellis, was going to be Alice after my Aunt Alice but I always consult my Gaelic name book and found Ellis which is Welsh for Alice so decided on that.

Also thought of people who came through Ellis Island in the U.S. and gained freedoms they might not have had in their birth country and felt it appropriate for the freedom the blind person gets when they receive a L.D.
