Hi Thingmy, you will get used to the pace, although it is different from your curling, up at Swan Hill on the border of New south Wales and Victoria the greens run at 17 seconds and here in Melbourne they run at about 12 seconds most of the time and of course in Scotland they can be as low as 9 seconds due to the cold and wet, you soon adjust to the different paces.. I Think from memory you come from the Vale or thereabouts and my cousin is a member of Dumbarton bowls club and plays there, Ian McKellar is his name, we visited three clubs when back last May and the greens were very slow compared to the Aussie greens.. We stayed a couple of nights with my cousin Ian who lives in Alexandria...we are lucky as our greens are open year round due to the fact we get a mild winter and never get snow, just a rare frost in the early morning and that might be only a couple of times in the winter..I know we complain about the cold but the temp is about 18c today and 10 c at night, not bad and winter is 3 days away.. Cheers Jack..
