Subject: Festivities are over now back to normal.

What a lovely Christmas it was and New Years Eve it bucketed down like you wouldn't believe and probably did some of the young ones a favour in the meantime. Victoria Police reported that behaviour was good and only 13 overdoses. I think last year it was 10. So a good time was had by all.

Thank you Gilly for the beautiful snow photos. I've shared them around here and they were loved by all the chosen recipients.
The mercury is about to climb again this week so I'll open the snow scenes when I feel hot.

Jan was out with his Alzheimer's group today. They took the guys to Yarra Glen and had lunch at a winery while I cut our nature strip, the next door neighbour's and the invalid lady's grass across the road. This year I intend to do what I can to help others. They are all women on their own and as I miss cutting the grass at the other place I'll make myself useful here.

Jan's brother is still here and we've had him here for dinners and been out to Daylesford and picnicing. His sister took him to the Museum and tomorrow they are off to Phillip Island for 3 days. When they come back they have a few days of relaxing and shopping in Melbourne then on the 18th we head off to Bright, Mount Buffalo and Mount Hotham as they want to see our mountains. Jack can probably vouch for the trip to Mount Hotham being an extremely scenic drive. Spectacular views to be seem at a few look outs along the way. The language hasn't been a huge barrier as we can all talk with our hands lol.

Gilly says she is going into hibernation till the end of January and that wood stove looks very welcoming Gilly. I forgot to mention that before.

Anyway I hope you had an enjoyable time too and didn't overdo it too much.

All the best for 2010.
