For years when running marathons my yearly kilometers were about 6,500 klm of training, still running at 71 and my feet are great no corns or bunions, but two weeks ago I was in a timber yard at a local store getting timber to re-do my back deck as it is getting dangerous with some of the roof supports rotting, well the stack of timber decided to shift and it came down on my right foot I thought I had broken my toes they went black as did a third of my foot so I was not able to run for two weeks, I put on my runners yesterday and the pain was terrible before I started running just with the tightness of the runners, did 5 klm and it hurt like hell all the way, will go out again this morning to try and get mobile again... I didn't go for an X ray as I thought, what the hell, if there is a break or a cracked bone with a bit of rest it will heal itself as I could still bend all my toes except the middle one..could have been a lot worse if the timber had fell on my Willy....Jack..
