Frost and ice in Australia? I didn't think that was possible!

April in the UK was drier than any other April for the last hundred years. We had to dig out the shorts, t-shirts and sun-block when we spent a few days at the caravan. Bloody cold at night though without any cloud cover. The farmers reckon a deluge is needed to kick-start their crops.

The stories of old drivers made me think of my mum and dad. They never learned to drive. My dad had a few "lessons" in a Co-op delivery van in the sixties but that was it. I remember having one of those toy steering wheels with a suction cup that was supposed to be stuck on a car dashboard but since we didn't have a car I stuck it on the living room door. Rubbish view through the windscreen (white gloss paint) and I had to make the engine noise myself. Reversing the living room into a tight parking space was a total bastard, I can assure you. Even now I need a space that can accommodate a three piece suite and a sideboard.

BB
