  • I have a second cousin who just died after Christmas at 91 I think. His wife had a stroke back in the 70s when she was early 50s and he looked after her at home for over 30 years until finally her dementia kicked in and she was in a nursing home for about a year then died. He was such a lovely man and loved his Beverly. Such a love story. By comparison, her sister had the same tumour (bev had her stroke when they were removing the tumor) and her husband left her almost immediately. Not quite sure what Grant would do....he is a pissy caregiver. When I broke my foot I called him crying and he hung up on me. Apparently I was supposed to compose myself before calling. • I didn't have to drink it! :) I had to drink too small bottles of Miralax and take 2 Ducalax. I should of taken more Ducalax seeing I knew that wasnt enough.   • Wow, isn't that interesting. Never heard that before and you know you are getting old when every couple months someone tells you about having to do the test and how horrible the prep is. Good to know! Thing is....how would they know if you really did do the stuff or did what you did??? It's like with ultrasounds and they tell you to drink all that stuff then they can't see anything and send you out to pee! Connor goes for them every year and wouldn't drink all that water if you tied him down. He has a couple of sips in the car on the way there and no one ever says a thing. • Last time I went for the procedure, DH dropped me at the hospital at 8am. Hospital says I'm not booked, ahkkkk, but I'm prepped!!! Haven't eaten in 2 days. So they arrange to fit me in at 2 pm. I wander the hospital for 6 hours sipping water; there isn't anywhere to go near by so I just have to wait it out cause I ain't prepping again. Then during the procedure I wake up and start screaming and crying, they blast some more knock out stuff into the IV. All in all not something I want to remember, but I can't seem to forget.   • My cousin woke up during hers too and her bowels seized so they had to stop. This was in Quebec where for some reason she had to pay for it and then only got a partial refund!       • It's sedation involving the use of a couple of different meds, one for pain and another to relax and cause a sort of disassociative state. You can still talk, answer questions, etc., but probably won't remember much if anything. They gave it to DH when he had his wisdom teeth out and we had a fairly involved coversation with the dentist at the end of it and he didn't remember it all. And he tried to call the elevator by pushing the door knob bumper next to a storage closet door. :) There's a reason they make you have someone to drive you home! • LOL! Kids are funny. Here's another funny one....so, I realize at 2:00 this afternoon that Nate's passport expired last year and we are coincidentally leaving on vacation tomorrow morning. What to do, what to do....well, first you panic like shit and then you calm down enough to get your ass to the passport office to see if there is ANYTHING that can be done. So, I'm driving like a maniac and apologizing to Nate and trying to explain to him what I've done and he says from the back seat, "that's okay, Mom, I guess you'll just have to leave me at home." Anyway, interesting bit of knowledge for you....you can get a passport in about 30 minutes. Who knew. The panic, the traffic, the having to send your husband home because you forgot the birth cert, the running across the street to get your kid's photo, well, that will add another 2 hours. I did a little but not a lot of employment law, wrongful termination, etc. and I never felt the emotional rollercoaster people went through was worth it. On the one hand, non-comp clauses can be hard to enforce because you can't screw with people's livelihoods but on the other hand courts have no soul and are very unpredictable and judges and mediators just simply don't care that there are human beings in front of them. You could present your case in front of a computer with probably the same percentage of outcomes. It's just not worth the stress. Now go plan a vacation on the bastards!
