• When I lived at home we always used a new towel every day (my folks still do) but since I was paying for coin laundry I would use a towel a few times. Last time I bought towels I even bought everyone a different colour so no one could complain that someone used their towel by mistake! ;) Now that we FINALLY have our own washer and dryer again I was looking forward to a new towel every day...but still can't seem to bring myself to do it! ;) But for 'company' I would expect them to use a new towel every day...and just throw in a load of white clothes every morning to keep the laundry from piling up.     • THIS IS WHY I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH! Eventually someone will come along and tell the truth and then I can chime in! *g* Me too. I have a body towel (yellow), a hair towel (white), a hand towel, Grant has his own towel (green) and I do laundry once a week. So we're one weekers here too. Instead of a towel rack, in my bathroom I installed hooks and they are right above a vent so I think that helps to dry them quickly. And....I have two sets of each, I store one and when I do laundry the stored set comes out. And....I've been doing that since we moved here almost 5 years ago. I replaced the white towels a year ago which were looking ragged probably because of the bleach in the whites. Oh....and Connor uses my white every night because he will only bath in our tub and will only use a white towel to dry off. So I'm pretty much filthy in everyone's books but my towels don't smell so what do I care. :-D Guests??? • We have 2 extra shower curtain rods at the back of the tub so we can hang 4 damp towels over teh tub and no one has to see them. We started this is South Carolina for pool towels and swimsuits and just carried it over (probably because we had all these extra tension rods!) Always seems like one of my best 'ideas'...as long as people check before they turn on the shower! ;) Even if the shower gets put on for a few seconds the towels aren't actually directly in the spray so they are usually safe.   • Technically I'm supposed to change towels daily due to my folliculitis (skin condition) but I don't. I have another rule too, if the towel gets droped and left on the bathroom floor, it goes in the laundry, same as any clothes left in a pile on the bathroom floor.     • Actually, her hair isn't curly and I have yet to see it washed, although Kellye says it looks like black silk. I'm not going on the notion that this is the way her hair will be anyway as Kellye had really dark straight hair at birth then it fell out and came in a dirty blond that had a slight wave until she hit puberty, then it became really curly.     • We went....nothing good to say though, still too pissed off at a lot of things mainly my spoiled rotten, over-indulged, rude nieces and nephew, my blinder-wearing SIL and DB and my bitchy over-sensitive self because Connor was ignored despite wanting to hang out with all of them so badly. Connor is not easy for kids to hang with but he was a guest and was only there a short time before they get the rest of the summer to bugger off with their friends all day. Broke my heart and I was an emotional wreck. My SIL told me a couple times she was disgusted with her kids' behaviour but she didn't do shit about it. Too afraid they might not like her. I didn't get into it with her at all but I did with my brother and told him it really does come down to the parents at the end of the day. Anyway, we won't go back.   • They definitely are!! I figured he was over a year old, he'd still like to play but he'd be calmer than a kitten. It seems like every day he finds something new to "play" with. But he's learning, slowly but surely. Oh, and did I mention that a week after we got him he jumped on my bird's cage (which was covered for the night, thank the Lord) and pulled it over, stand and all. Luckily even though dh and I had gone to bed, I was still awake and heard the bird go crazy. turned out, when the plastic bottom of the cage hit the floor, it cracked. • Had a birthday party for DD this weekend, that I ended up doing most of the work for, even though it wasn't my idea! (Gee honey I hope you don't mind but I invited x amount of people and we are cooking out on the grill!) So, it was run around and get food and cake stuff, make a cake , decorate it ,buy a new pool to replace the one that finally died. Got the pool set up and back yard cleaned up and tables set up while DH was busy building a garage at his dad's house. Had about 20 people over and about 6 crazy kids, ages 11-14, running amok. The kids spent the night after the pool, fireworks, and riding the 4 wheelers. They stayed up most of the night playing hide and seek and Guitar hero. I was so exhausted I slept most of the day sunday. I woke up long enough to eat and put some laundry on the line, then went back to sleep until 7. Next weekend is a no kid weekend. • I met a young woman while in Hawaii. She had lost her Mother a year ago - today on Facebook she wrote a Memorial Tribute to her Mother that is just AMAZING. Jennifer is 18 years old and is the most mature and alive young person I've met in a very long time. • I always cry reading about mom memories. Funny what pops into your head for no apparent reason.     • It will be every year now - when we were getting ready, I was trying to explain the scope to my Troop of 8th-11th graders and told them "Your daughters and my grand-daughters will come to this camp. I stopped at 10 years old, though, looks like she'll be continuing for a while at least. She really enjoys it and she gets to do a lot of cool stuff we'd otherwise never be able to afford. She's going on a weekend in August to Kentucky to go caving, go to Six Flags, to the Kentucky Derby museum and barns, and on a trail ride. • One more little moment . . . we have a floating cabin on that lake that the girls canoe to and make s'mores in the firepit on the lake. We rotated who slept there every night because its so cool we wanted everyone to have one night out there. One morning at Flag Ceremony, one of the girls came and tole me "The mist on the lake was so white we couldn't see across it! But we could still see the sky and the tops of the trees.
