In reply to: AI3 Follower 's message, "You mean Jasmine Trias on AI? I doubt she has any drop of Spanish blood at all. If you go to Latin America, most of the people there are Caucasian (Spanish)-looking because they truly have Spaniards for ancestors. On the contrary, it is very rare to find Spanish-looking people in the Philippines. Oh well, I'll shift loyalty to any of the black girls now. They don't lie about their real identities and they sing better anyway." on 03/24/04 10:41pm PST

Regardless of if you are proud of it or not, for those of us who really do have Spanish blood, it may not "SHOW" as matter of appearance. I'm dark and I look Filipino but I do have Spanish blood b/c my grandmother is half Spanish. I tell people that I am Filipino and Spanish b/c it is true. I don't care if it's an eighth. It's there... This does not mean I am not proud to be Filipino b/c I damn well am. I know where I came from and where I want to go.

For those who think they know what Filipino is. Filipinos either come from Negrito (black Aboriginal) blood or from Mayan blood or even both. Filipinos are not Asian. We may be on the Asian continent but our culture is VERY different. We did not cross from China. We came from the south as far as Australia.

As far as Japanese invaders...I'm glad they're out. They beheaded my grandfather's brother. My grandfather fought them in guerilla warfare. They were by no means nice people. Have you ever watched Ianfu? It is a documentary on the Filipina women/children that were made into whores for Japanese soldiers. They were only 12-15.

Before any of you make a judgement of what Filipino is...take a class, read a book, or visit the Philippines. Be educated about your comments before you make ignorant statements...like many I have read above.
