I claim to be 100% filipina even though my grandfather is 1/2 chinese on my dad's side and my great grandmother's dad is pure spaniard on my mother's side. I have been mistaken for japanese, korean, chinese, hawaiian, mexican, (you name it) because i have fair skin and tall for a filipina 5'6". My husband is white (german descent)...my kids look pure filipino. I have a brother who is half Scottish and i hate it when he tells people he is scottish when you can tell he's half something. i have a friend who claims she's white (her mother is filipina) when she looks more vietnamese than anything else. i have no point to prove...just wanted to write. i never realized there was such a syndrome until i started reading the entries. VERY INTERESTING. i have thalassemia which is predominant in the chinese and mediterranean population. is that proof enough?
