What's the music hit in the Philippines?
"Ocho ocho" followed by "Pamela" and then here comes "Pito pito". I don't know about the rest of you people but these music are for idiots.

What about movies? I have TFC and once in a while I browse to see Filipino movies and what do I get? Sorry movies. "Jack en Poy", Tito, Vic & Joey, the expression "hasheshe" with a sideward fade of hand and knee is the favourite act of almost every Filipino actor. They all think they're comedians and all they can muster is "HASHESHE".

How about politics? Not too long ago people devote their youth studying for future public office. UP college of Law, Ateneo, Dela Salle University, are some institutions we can devote our education to if just to name a few. Now... If you want to run for public office all you have to do is to audition for any stupid role in any idiotic movie and the next day you can run for any public office of your choice.

These are all promoted agressively by major media establishments. They take advantage of the vulnerability of the Filipino people who have not much of a choice but to see, hear, and absorb what these giants feed us. They mostly care for their profit instead of the responsibility they have for the future of our land, our children. Yes, tender as they are and they have no intelligent choice but to hear ocho ocho, pito pito, pamela, and hasheshe whichever direction they turn their heads to.

Sincerely.

Raphael Sta. Cruz
