(He could feel every subtle shift in her body, the weakness and exhaustion in her radiated to him and filled him with an intense protective emotion. He held her to his chest and rocked just a little to comfort them both, since he was feeling a wee bit overwhelmed from the sudden onset of her pain and the way he had been unprepared for what it would be like to go through that with her.. it was such a surreal almost psychic connection he felt.)
