Oh Phyllis I was worried about you yesterday when I watched the american news on t.v.
I certainly hope things are calming down for you,I know the panic my daughters went through a few years ago when the river they both live by flooded, Cynthia lost thousands that insurance would not cover. She does not store things in her basement any more.
If your basement gets smelly after the waters go down, spraying the area with vinegar will help prevent the dreaded mold from forming,1/2 gallon of vinegar to a gallon of water should do. Sounds expensive but is a lot cheaper than trying to scrape off mold with expensive chemicals.
Please keep us posted on your personal experience, the news on tv is about strangers but you are a friend we really care about.
