Subject: Back from Sydney

Hello! I got back from Sydney yesterday morning..had a wonderful time with family, but am very tired, so will fill you on the holiday news later. Lots of things have been happening.
When I got home yesterday my cat Grania was firmly in possession of my computer chair, and when I tried to lift her off she gave me a sharp nip! So I had to bring in one of the orange kitchen chairs to sit and use my computer. She hasn't given up yet, is still clinging possessively to it and I'm still using the kitchen chair!

Ha ! I can just picture Grania taking command of your chair, We used to have a mascot cat at the t.v. station & it would sit and stare at people who didn't like cats, one day a government officer was there using one of the offices,he said to keep the cat out, he hated cats, I said if you don't like cats you will never have a good relationship with women, I found out later he was divorced 3 times at that point-lol.
So glad you had a nice visit with family.I was quite sick with the flu last week and recovered by Mothers day but still very tired, my family took me out to dinner, gave me a rose bush,Mums, book,a funny metal dog meant to be put on the patio so breezes would make its head nod,It looks so funny out on the patio-like a dog shivering.
My new puppy is so adorable and very comical with puppy antics but I am so proud that he only had one bathroom mistake and that was my fault for not paying attention. He will be about the size of a big cat when he is all grown.
The downside is I think we will very soon have to have our beloved Brandi, the big dog put down, her hips are going so bad and she falls a lot and I don't want to see her suffer.
I think as of last night my husband is finally seeing how bad her health is.It is so hard to make that decision about a wonderful pet.
How is your weather now? What changes take place in the fall there,is it cold enough to kill off plants?grass?Do you ever get ice? forgive stupid questions but I am nosey-lol..on that note I will say bye for now..all the bast!

Hi Gals,

Ellie, I hope you are not so tired from all your traveling.
I think your cat was telling you that she missed you very much and decided she would be in charge.

Tina, I am sorry to hear that you had the flu.

I can sympathize with you regarding your belove Brandi. I always prayed that when Rufus' time came that he would not suffer and on that day I knew I had to make that decision.

I have purchased 2 different photo albums. In one I am putting all my sympathy cards (to date I have 17 cards)and 2 poems. My sister wrote the following poem which I would like to share with you both:

You left us on a bright and sunny April day even though we wanted you to stay.

We each had our separate cries as we said our final goodbyes.

We took a walk and had a talk, so we could remember your 15 years and try to dry our tears.

In the distance we saw a lantern with a shining light, and we knew you'd be all right.

We know Nana is taking care of you, so we'll try not to be so blue.

We will always remember your kind face and know that no one can ever take your place.

We feel that you are watching us from above with that special Rufus kind of love.

(The Nana referred to in the poem is my Mother. My children always called her Nana.)

It has been 3 weeks and I think of Rufus so often. I try to keep busy and cherish the beautiful memories of him.

On a lighter note, I had a good Mother's day. We ate at the Italian restaurant and my sons called to wish me a Happy Mother's day. I am looking forward to my Florida trip in June.

Sending all my best.
Fondly,
Phyllis
