Hi Gals,

Ellie, I hope you are not so tired from all your traveling.
I think your cat was telling you that she missed you very much and decided she would be in charge.

Tina, I am sorry to hear that you had the flu.

I can sympathize with you regarding your belove Brandi. I always prayed that when Rufus' time came that he would not suffer and on that day I knew I had to make that decision.

I have purchased 2 different photo albums. In one I am putting all my sympathy cards (to date I have 17 cards)and 2 poems. My sister wrote the following poem which I would like to share with you both:

You left us on a bright and sunny April day even though we wanted you to stay.

We each had our separate cries as we said our final goodbyes.

We took a walk and had a talk, so we could remember your 15 years and try to dry our tears.

In the distance we saw a lantern with a shining light, and we knew you'd be all right.

We know Nana is taking care of you, so we'll try not to be so blue.

We will always remember your kind face and know that no one can ever take your place.

We feel that you are watching us from above with that special Rufus kind of love.

(The Nana referred to in the poem is my Mother. My children always called her Nana.)

It has been 3 weeks and I think of Rufus so often. I try to keep busy and cherish the beautiful memories of him.

On a lighter note, I had a good Mother's day. We ate at the Italian restaurant and my sons called to wish me a Happy Mother's day. I am looking forward to my Florida trip in June.

Sending all my best.
Fondly,
Phyllis
