Subject: Hi Girls

Well, I've found a few minutes to catch up. I haven't read all your news and what's happening yet but will do so once I've finished having a chat with you all LOL. Ellie, I did see about your brother and I am so very very happy that he seems to be okay now, so very relieved for you.

Well, not too much to report....these last few weeks I've been down and back to Adelaide a fair bit with tests for my Mum. Nothing serious but just getting her to the doctors etc and she doesn't have any close family in Adelaide now since Leigh left for overseas. She is fine but have found her neck and shoulder problems are something called Spondylitis (sp) and nothing much can be done for it.

Well our picking season is in full swing now. We've had a couple of rainy weeks and cannot pick while wet. The last few days have been lovely and picking is resuming. Most of our fruit is exported to USA and actually shipped to Florida so I'm told. Phyllis, you might get to eat one of our Tangellos or oranges one day, they go from Florida to all over USA LOL.

My sister and husband are coming for the weekend to visit next weekend and I'm looking forward to their visit. We will probably take them to a few places and Tony (BIL) loves getting out on the block and picking and eating the fruit off the trees. I think it's his Italian heritage where his parents had a farm back in his hometown of Molinara, Italy. He came to Australia at 8 years of age.

Leigh is still enjoying London. He is living at South Kensington in a nice area and about 5 minutes walk from Kensington Palace and not far from Notting Hill and Holland Park, although he is on the south side and says it's where the "plebs" live LOL. He is getting lots of shifts in Emergency at different hospitals around London, and learning lots. He's in Holland at the moment taking a break. He's been to Spain and ran with the bulls....barbaric sport but I suppose I understand why the young ones do it. Luckily, he told us afterwards, he knows me well. He is making plans to do a trip to Macca Pichu (sp) in the Andies early next year and from what I've heard is just beautiful.

Hope everyone is well and hopefully, work will settle down a bit, been doing a fair bit of overtime and not much computer time as well. Now that Mum's trips to the doctors and specialists have calmed down a bit, I will hopefully have some more free time. She's pretty good for 85 but is relying on me more now that Leigh is not nearby and down and back to Adelaide is a 6 hour trip. I've tried to get her to move to Berri, but she is too settled in Adelaide.

All is fine here and enjoying some sunshine the last few days.

Ellie, Abby and Ted the cats are fine. Abby is 3 now and Ted is about to turn 3. He is now weighing in at 8kgs, which is about the size of a fully grown Brit boy. Jake and Mitch are fine as well, although Jake's arthritis is getting worse.

Bye for now,
Susan

Wonderful to hear from you-I can just picture the fun Leigh is having-how wonderful the experience must be for him to travel to all those areas that many never get the chance to do although I feel you must be happy for him but miss him terribly.Glad your Moms illness isn't drastic but the discomfort must be annoying to her.At 85 she can expect some annoyances and perhaps she will find some medicine that will help or perhaps massages to help.
Wish I lived handy to help pick that wonderful fruit although you would lose some profit from what I would eat-lol..If it is transported to USA some must be transported here from there-we get our fruit marked product of USA or product of Florida, except our apples, plums, pears are grown here in Canada. The only gardening I did this year was to plant pots of tomato plants and they are loaded with green tomatoes which I can hardly wait for them to ripen.
We have had 2 weeks of unusual hot -real hot weather..so I have spent a lot of time in the lake or in the ocean water,I find it hard to tolerate real hot weather unless I am submerged-lol

Hi Susan,

It was great to hear an update from you. Hope your Mother is doing better. It must be hard for her being so far away from you but I can understand that she is settled where she is living.

You must enjoy it very much when your sister and her husband come for a visit. Being with family is so special.

Sounds like your son is doing well and is adventurous and enjoying new activities. It is best that they do not tell us until after the fact (such as the bull run) as we always worry about them.

Just think, some of the oranges that I buy from the grocery store may be right from your yard. What a small world this is.

The summer is going by too fast. I have been to the beach and to a concert last month.

We have been having rainy weather but it is supposed to improve tomorrow and next week.

Have to sign off for now.

Phyllis
