Subject: Are we aloooone?

Hi Gals.. are Susan,Tina, Phyliss and me the only ones left now? Where are Kylie,Dudo, Margaret.....???
Susan, good to catch up with you again.. tho I've been a little slow.. Thanks for thoughts re my brother.. Yes, he's doing well so far, but alas.. they recently decided to sell for financial reasons their beautiful holiday cottage on the Georgian lakes at Pointe Au Baril. It was a sad time. The cottage had been in the family for generations, and I spent a week there when I was in Canada 2 years ago.
They listed it and it sold in 10days.
Good to hear news of cats and Jake and Mitch... Grania and Fellerare well.. also my 2 goldfish!
Cats are shedding like crazy for summer, especially G, she has such thick fur.
Tina, I hope your grand daughter enjoys her year. One of our writing group members, Jessie ( a lovely lady in her 80's) is writing her granddaughter Bianca's story of Bianca working in Italy for a year, as a nanny to a 3 year old girl, Matilde. The family lived in a genuine castle!
Bianca was supposed to teach Matilde English.. but the only English word the kid learnt was 'Birdie"!
I've just been busy with my usual stuff, part time work, study, writing group and theatre group.. Our theatre group is putting on a cabaret next Sat night.. I have a small part in it. We;ve sold nearly all the tickets and it looks like it's going to be a fun night!
Ellie.

Sorry Your brother sold the cottage but times do change and a summer home adds a lot of work and expense along with the fun. They will most likely enjoy local travel and visiting friends from now on.We sold our cottage some years back when Ralston had his heart problems but I do have a 35 foot trailer on Cynthias lot just next door to where our cottage was.It is no expense to keep up like a cottage and in winter I just lock it up until spring. It is large enough for us but not room for lots of company so I don't have to do extra cleaning and meals-sounds mean but as one gets older they don't need all that extra work.
You said your cats were shedding a lot-My big dog Brandi had never shed as much as she has this summer-I am going to take her for a check-up even though she seems in tip top shape and one would never believe she will be eleven yrs old in Oct.
I wish I lived handy enough to see your cabaret..it must be so much fun to belong to a writers group. Before I got cancer a was thinking of getting involved with the Chester theatre group.I would love for someone somewhere to write and have performed a play of an animal shelter office where
people come in with the most outrageous excuses as to why they cannot keep their cat, bird, dog or whatever. It used to be hard to keep a straight face some of the excuses were so funny if one didn't think of the sad part for the animal.
So nice to hear from you-I am going to a wedding shower this morning so I had better scram and have my bath and get things ready so I can go.All the best to you and your and the fur babies!!!whoops andthe goldfish-lol
