Subject: First Day of New England Fall

Hello to all,

We are having a beautiful Indian Summer day here in New Hampshire for the first day of fall.

I have been busy catching up on some paper work and also raking some of the leaves in my yard. Our local dump will pick up 3 bags limit each week of any leaves or small branches, so I am taking advantage of it.

We our having a JUGS (Just us girls) get together tomorrow at a good restaurant here in town. It will be good to catch up on everyone's summer and news.

My sister and I are going to visit my daughter this afternoon as my daughter is on vacation this week. She lives nearby and has a nice home with a large fenced in back yard in a lovely neighborhood.

Also, does anyone have a really good recipe for banana bread? I have to make several loafs for our church fair. I have misplaced my favorite recipe when was given to me from a neighbor many years ago.

Will write again soon but wanted to say hello to everyone.

Have a good day and good weekend.
Thanks.

Phyllis

Nice to hear from you-I have been so busy running around with my old school chum who was visiting from Courtney British Columbia-I think I mentioned before that she lives as far west in Canada as you can get and I as far east-she flies home each year to visit her 90 yr old mom and then she and I run around to all the beaches and craft shops and try out different restaurants.
We have had 3 weeks of perfect weather to do our running around.Ralston was content to stay home at his 12 hour a day pastime-watching t.v.-he lives for t.v. but I did manage to get him to go to a few places these past few weeks.
Cynthia "my youngest daughter-will be 40 in December-40 going on 16-lol..she had a hillbilly corn boil at the lake Saturday night.Everyone had to wear jeans and plaid shirts or farmers straw hats. She braided her hair around wire so that her braids stood off in mid air..looked cute!!There were 30 some of us to the party and the weather was warm and beautiful.Great time!!!
I hope someone gave you a good recepie for carrot cake.
Our leaves haven't started to fall yet..they are so beautiful-all the reds, yellows and orange colors..we have a lot of tourists in the area to see them and everyone has scarecrow people in various poses..they stuff jeans or funny dresses with crushed newspaper and make the heads and faces out of various materials. There are wedding scenes, stuffed kids on ladders=stuffed people hanging clothes on lines..oh so many different poses..they will stay on lawns until Hallowe'en.people come from far away just to walks the streets and see all the funny scenes.
Must let you go-hope all is well.

Hi Tina,

I am so happy that you had perfect weather for your adventures with your long time school friend. I know that there is a special bond with your best friend during your school years and with that friend forever. It is great to reminiscence about the "good old school days".

My friend Nancy (I did not meet her at school as she went to school in Vermont)and I both like the beach, craft shops and good restaurants too.

Your school friend's mother must be so happy to see her too! I do remember now that you said your long time friend would be coming in one of your e-mails.

Your daughter Cynthia's hillbilly gathering must have be a lot of fun. She sounds like she keeps things hoping for everyone. What a large group- 30 friends & family to share good times.

We are enjoying beautiful warm weather but I heard that first of next week will be very cold. I am continuing to rake in spurts as I have a large back yard and many trees nearby in my neighbors' yards that seem to land in my yard. I also have a butternut tree and the squirrels love gathering the butternuts when they fall off.

Nice to hear from you and hope you have a good weekend.

Hello to everyone. It's been a while since the "regulars" have written. Hope everyone is doing well.
