Subject: Hot Sunday!

Tina and Phyliss, so sorry to hear that you have both been ill... me too. what a threesome we are! Mine wasn't too bad, some sort of gastric bug that left me uncomfortable and woozy/tired for 2 days, but okay again now, as I hope you both are too!
So now we officially have our first month of Autumn.. but today is HOT, in fact we have a 4 day heatwave, as tho summer is not going to let go without a fight. I went out for an early walk to the fruit and vegie market, and it was still moderately cool then and pleasant walking. I noticed some of the trees already had their green leaves turning golden.
Yesterday afternoon my youngest son and his wife left for London,England for 3 weeks holiday.. it's a long flight from Melb.Australia to London.. around 24 hours, well, London for a week, then on to Scotland. We had a family barbeque the weekend before they left, and that was lovely.
My eldest son made an absolutely superb lemon meringue cheesecake. It was the first time he had ever made it and we were all awestruck!
AND on the 9th of April I'm flying up to Sydney for the weekend.. 700 odd miles from here to see new grandson Alexander for the first time.He will be 5 months old by then. As you can imagine I'm looking forward to that!
Keep Spring in your thoughts and stay well..
Ellie.

Hi Ellie & Tina and any other readers

It was so good to hear from you Ellie and I am glad that you are feeling ok now. Sounds like some kind of "universal bug" going around.

I bet you can hardly wait to meet your grandson for the first time. I know exactly how you feel as I did not meet my second granddaughter until she was 2 months old and it has been a long time since I last saw her.

I am looking forward to the birth of my daughter's first child this June. We are all very excited and we are having a surprise baby shower in May for her.

Just think you are enjoying Autumn and we are having another Nor'Easter today. We received about 8 inches of heavy snow. We actually had 2 separate snowstorms. The first one left about 2 inches of light snow and then the next one another 6 inches of heavy snow. Oh well I will keep thinking Spring must be on its way before too long.

The lemon meringue cheesecake sounds delicious. How wonderful that your youngest son and his wife are going on such a lovely vacation.

I have to sign off as I plan to go to church tomorrow as long as I can get out of my driveway.

I also wanted to let you know that I have given this site to my friend Nancy as she would like to join our chat site.

Wishing you all a good week.

Phyllis
